Facilities for banking and exchange of foreign currency will not be available at the conference venue itself, but are to be found nearby. There are several banks located in the area. There is also a foreign exchange facility at the central station, and near the conference venue.
The currency in Sweden is krona and ore. Notes are available in denominations of SEK 20, 100, 500 and 1000.
The electrical current in Sweden is 220 volts. Most hotels provide 110 volt outlets for shavers.
Swedish is the official language but people often have a good knowledge of other languages, especially English.
The main shopping streets are Södergatan och Södra Förstadsgatan. Cenrtrally
situated there are also a number of shopping centras like Hansa Conpagniet, Triangeln
and Entré.
The shops are generally open between 10.00 am and 8.00 pm on weekdays and
10.00 to 14.00 on Saturdays, Sundays and public hollidays. Friday the 6:th of January is
a public holliday in Sweden - Epiphany Day.

Summers are warm and pleasant with average high temperatures of 20 to 21 °C (68 to 70 °F) and lows of around 11 to 13 °C (52 to 55 °F). Days between 25 °C (77 °F) and 30 °C (86 °F) are relatively common especially in July and August and heat waves are common during the summer. Winters are fairly cold, with temperatures steady between −3 to 4 °C (27 to 39 °F), but it rarely drops below −10 °C (14 °F).
The Swedish VAT is 25% and is added to all goods and services and is included in the retail prices.
