Basque gastronomy, and therefore Biscayan cuisine, is universally famous and is the result of the quality of ingredients and the skill of its master chefs.
Many of the best Basque restaurants and restaurateurs can be found in Bilbao. They range from select Michelin star restaurants to more traditional and less sophisticated steakhouses, cider houses, taverns, outdoor bars or "txakolis”.
