TRAVEL INFORMATION

By air

The Dresden-Klotzsche Airport, located north of the city, has flight connections to the majority of important German cities, as well as a few European destinations. Thus, there is a possibility of international transfers. The airport can be reached by bus (lines 77 and 97), tram line (line 7, change for the bus at tram station Infineon Nord), and local train (S-Bahn line 22), the latter taking 21 minutes.

By Train

Dresden Neustadt and Dresden Hauptbanhof are the two largest train stations, situated on the northern and southern side of the Elbe respectively. Dresden Neustadt is just north of the New Town and offers good train connections, some terminating there and not at the main train station (Hauptbanhof). It is easily accessible by tram or car. Dresden Hauptbanhof is located by Dresden's main shopping street, Prager Straße, and is thus in a short walking distance from most central attractions in Old Town. It has the most well-connected train service in Dresden (thus serving as the main station), and can be reached by bus and tram, as well as by car.

By bus and car

Dresden has good bus connections, with BerlinLinienbus operating eight buses from Berlin to Dresden daily (most connecting to the Hauptbanhof station, but also other bus stations such as Schlesischer Platz and Neustadt station), and Mein Fern Bus also connecting Dresden with Berlin and other destinations. Dresden is also easily accessed by car through the German highway system and the new Autobahn leading to Prague, which has just recently been finished.
