As a historical city, Porto is the home of many centenary monuments, from the breathtaking cathedral and the scattered baroque churches that can be found all over the city, to the prestigious buildings that exist for so long and have been turned into museums filled with culture that cannot be missed.

As for museums, the Serralves Museum of Contemporary Art, offers a representative collection of Portuguese and international contemporary art for art lovers; The Port Wine Museum, that must be followed by a visit to one of the exquisite Port Wine Cellars; The Portuguese Centre of Photography and the Transports and Communications Museum are also must see's, and last but not least, one of Porto´s most recent and worldwide famous cultural projects: Casa da Música - House of Music, a cultural meeting point, created for the presentation and public enjoyment of everything connected to music. At almost every corner visitors can find small museums, dedicated to one of the several arts or to special subjects, as well as those that were once the houses of renowned Portuguese authors and historic personalities.

Palácio da Bolsa - Stock Exchange Palace

This 19th Century building, located in the heart of the Historic Centre, is a masterpiece of Neo-classical architecture. The Palace offers an imposing backdrop for receptions with its various sumptuous salons that can be reserved exclusively for the event.
As well as the unique rooms, this venue also offers all necessary services, from catering to decoration and the restaurant "O Comercial”.

Taylor´s Port Wine Cellars

Port is the world's greatest fortified wine, produced in the valley of the Douro River, east of Porto in Northern Portugal. Taylor, Fladgate & Yeatman - founded in 1692 - is the last totally independent company of the original British Port houses still family owned and managed by descendants of the Yeatman and Fladgate families. Through its catering company Três Séculos it offers a very special banqueting service. With six different rooms, each with its own unique atmosphere and charm, provides a choice of location for every occasion. All rooms enjoy views of the lodges or across the river to the spectacular old city centre of Porto.

Ferreira Port Wine Cellars

With over 250 years' tradition, the first references to Ferreira date back to 1751, when a Douro winegrowing family began producing high quality Porto Wines.
Ferreira owes much to the contribution of D. Antónia Adelaide Ferreira, the legendary figure who became a symbol of the entrepreneurship in Douro viticulture as well as an example of altruism and generosity towards the needy. Visiting Ferreira today is to pass through years of tradition and knowledge, in an historical legacy that Ferreira is proud to share with its visitors.

Graham's Port Wine Cellars

Opened in 1993 to the public, the Graham's Lodge is a functional, working building which today welcomes over 50,000 visitors every year. 20 years after its opening, the Lodge is one of Premium Port lovers favourite destinations where visitors can witness the everyday work, discover and taste Graham's Ports and enjoy authentic and unique food pairing combinations.

Sandeman Port Wine Cellars

The House of Sandeman was founded in London in 1790 by George Sandeman, a young Scotsman, and has grown to be one of the most prestigious Porto Wine brands in the world. Acquired by the founder in 1811, the Sandeman Cellars have been used for more than 200 years to age Sandeman's best Port Wines. The visit leads you through long corridors of oak casks and vats where Rubies and Tawnies slowly develop their style under the watchful eye of an experienced team of winemakers. The Sandeman Museum takes you back to 17th century London recounting the history of the brand through an exhibition of bottles, paintings, photographs, ceramics and other artifacts, gathered through the centuries and passed from generation to generation.

Pousada do Porto - Palácio do Freixo

Dated from 1742, Palácio do Freixo is one of the most beautiful monuments in Porto. The Palace welcomes the newest Pousada in Portugal, part of a hotel network of more than 40 establishments of leisure and culture that include the rich diversification and the best traditions of the regions where they are located.
The Pousada do Freixo has 87 rooms with an impressive river view, a restaurant, spa, and function rooms among other facilities.

Casa da Música

Casa da Música was one of the first projects to be launched, or one of the flagships if you wish, of Porto 2001 - European Capital of Culture. A project that does justice to the rich musical heritage of Porto based on a whole tradition of musical schools and academies, music societies, different groups and bands and numerous national and international musicians.
With its crystal-like shape and panoramic rooftop overlooking the city, the building designed by Rem Koolhaas has become a landmark in Porto. In addition to fulfilling the purpose for which it was designed, it was destined and has succeeded to become a cultural and tourist attraction.

Port Wine Museum

The Port Wine Museum is settled in a warehouse dating from the eighteenth century that belonged to the Companhia Geral da Agricultura das Vinhas do Alto Douro (Alto Douro Vineyards General Company). It is intended to be an information centre on Port Wine, able to lead the visitors throughout the commercial history of the city as it relates to the world famous wine.
As a museum of the Port Wine commercial activity, this building integrates pieces of archaeology, ethnography, faience and china, furniture, textiles, copper engraving plates, glassware and many other interesting elements including a documentary set worth seeing.

Serralves Foundation

The Serralves Foundation is a cultural institution established for public benefit. Its aim is to stimulate the public's interest in contemporary art and environmental issues, using as its principle vehicles the Serralves Museum of Contemporary Art, a multidisciplinary cultural centre designed by the internationally renowned Portuguese architect Álvaro Siza Vieira, and the Serralves Park, a natural landmark which comprises a 1930s mansion, surrounded by an 18 acre area of gardens, wood and farmland, dedicated to environmental education and preservation. The Spaces offered by Serralves can be used for many purposes, such as cultural tourism, exhibitions and guided tours, as well as group events, dinners, seminars and child activities.

Tramcar Museum

The Tramcar Museum, open since 1992 and with the effort of the S.T.C.P. (Porto's transport services), was created to become a lively and dynamic institution, so that the collective memory of Porto, a World Heritage City, is not lost but solidified instead.
The permanent exhibition comprises a collection of 16 tramcars, 5 tramcar trailers, 2 backup cars, engines, armatures and combining components.

The building where the Museum is installed can be rented for events such as banquets, cocktails and special events. The tramcars can also be rented for special transfers along the waterfront during the event.
