McCormick Place's unprecedented labor changes and amenities make it the country's most customer-friendly convention destination. It is managed by SMG, the nation's leading private management services provider.
Thanks to an agreement between McCormick Place,Navy Pier, MPEA, the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers, Local 134, and International Alliance of Theatrical Stage Employees, Local 2, Chicago is a more attractive destination for conventions and trade shows. As of 2012, IATSE stagehands may complete a type of work including that involving audio-visual, lighting and sound equipment that was previously completed only by IBEW electricians.
Show managers and exhibitors can perform their own work in any size booth, using their own ladders or hand tools, cordless tools, power tools and other tools designated by McCormick Place.
McCormick Place is the world's largest convention centre certified as a sustainable venue. Facility energy-saving projects include a commitment to offsetting 100 per cent of its electricity usage with clean, affordable wind energy.
