Oslo offers convenient public transportation, and short distances make it easy to get around by walking or biking.
All the public transport in Oslo and the surrounding county Akershus is part of the same ticket and price system. This applies to buses, trams, subways (t-bane), ferries and local trains.
You can use the same tickets on all public transport in Oslo: bus, tram, metro, train and ferry.
Ruter is the name of the public transport system in Oslo and the surrounding county, Akershus. City buses, regional buses, trams, subway/metro, ferries and local trains are included in Ruter's ticket system.
Tickets can be purchased from any of Ruter's sales points. Tickets cost NOK 20 more when purchased on board. To travel by subway/metro, you must always pre-purchase a ticket.
Ruter's Customer Service Centre (in front of Oslo Central Station), in most Narvesen and 7-Eleven shops, from ticket machines at metro stations etc.
Single tickets are available on buses, trams and ferries, but these are more expensive than tickets bought in advance.

NSB is the national Norwegian railway company, and offers excellent train services in Norway and between Oslo and Gothenburg.

The Oslo Ferries are the ferry boats from Rådhusbrygge 4 to the islands of the inner Oslo Fjord.

Line 94: to Langøyene (summer only)
All Ruter tickets (tickets for public transport in Oslo) are valid on the ferries. Tickets are not sold on the islands, so buy your tickets in advance or use Ruter's mobile ticket app.
You can travel to and from Oslo Airport (OSL) by bus, train, taxi or car. The airport is located 47 km northeast of Oslo.
You can travel to and from Moss Airport Rygge (RYG) by bus, train or car. The airport is located 66 km south-east of Oslo.
You can travel to and from Torp Sandefjord Airport (TRF) by bus, train or car. The airport is located 110 km south-west of Oslo.
