Public Transportation in the City

Once you have arrived in the city, getting around couldn't be easier from FREE city centre buses to express trains connecting the airport, towns and cities of the area, it's easy to attend a conference in Manchester. Of course, the compact nature of the city centre also makes walking a popular choice.

A comprehensive network of buses and the metrolink tram system offer frequent services to many destinations surrounding Manchester.

Metroshuttle

Manchester is easy to travel to from other major UK cities. Direct services between Manchester and London run conveniently every 20 minutes with Virgin Trains. Local rail services connect Manchester Airport with Greater Manchester districts and the city centre.

There are four key train stations in Manchester city centre - Deansgate, Piccadilly, Oxford Road and Victoria. Of these, Piccadilly attracts the most visitors' and is the main arrival point into the city centre.

When in Manchester city centre, you can hop on one of the Metroshuttle buses. These are free and link to all of the main rail stations, shopping districts and business venues in the city centre. Metroshuttle operates from 7am - 7pm Monday to Saturday and 10am - 6pm on Sundays and runs approximately every 10 minutes.

Bus

Buses are an excellent way to see the city and the wider region of Greater Manchester. A comprehensive network offers fast and frequent services to many destinations. In the city centre hop on one of the free Metroshuttle buses which link the main rail stations, shopping areas and businesses in the city centre.

Airport Transportation to Conference Centers and Hotels

First TransPennine Express operates direct services into Manchester city centre from Manchester Airport.

Trains to the city centre run every 10 minutes into Piccadilly train station; the average journey time is 20 minutes. Alternatively you can jump into a taxi to the city centre.
