Located 300 kms north of Lisbon, Porto is also well connected with all European Capitals. All major Airlines fly directly to Porto: Lufthansa, Iberia, Air France, Transavia, Ryanair, Air Berlin, Luxair, as well as the evergrowing low cost airlines, such as Ryanair and Easyjet. The national airline carrier is TAP, which has offices in most European capitals and offer direct flights to Porto. Porto's International Airport is located 11 kms away from the city centre. There is Bus Shuttle access to the city, as well as taxi and public transports, such as bus and Light-Rail. Two Railway Stations also provide 3 daily international trains to Paris via Madrid and several daily trains to Lisbon.
The Francisco Sá Carneiro Airport operates with 18 airlines and 70 destinations. 6 million people are estimated to visit this airport every year, and now, with its recent and intensive renovation, this number is expected to grow and keep on taking up the role of primary travel hub for the north-western corner of the Iberian Peninsula.
In 2014, the Francisco Sá Carneiro Airport was awarded the 3rd Best European Airport, its 8th award in 8 years.
